Description

The Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship is organized by the Augusta National Golf Club. The event features 54 holes of stroke play, typically contested over three rounds. The first two rounds are played at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia, with a field of 72 of the leading women amateur golfers. After 36 holes, the field is cut to the top 30 players and ties, who advance to play the final round at Augusta National Golf Club. If there is a tie after the 54 holes, a sudden-death playoff determines the winner. Qualification for the event includes reigning champions from prestigious amateur events such as the U.S. Women's Amateur, Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific, and NCAA Division I individual champion, among others, as well as top-ranked players by various amateur golf rankings and special invitations from the Augusta National Women's Amateur Committee.
