Description

The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, organized by the United States Golf Association (USGA), is a premier national tournament for male amateur golfers under the age of 19. The 2025 championship will take place at Trinity Forest Golf Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, from July 21 to 26. It begins with two rounds (36 holes) of stroke play to determine the top 64 players who then advance to match play. The match play rounds proceed through single-elimination over several days, culminating in a 36-hole final match to decide the champion. The event typically features a field of approximately 264 players from across the United States and internationally. To qualify, players must be male amateurs under age 19 with a Handicap Index of 2.4 or below and must advance through sectional qualifying tournaments held nationwide and internationally. Entry applications open in March and close in May. The champion receives a gold medal, custody of the U.S. Junior Amateur Trophy for a year, and exemptions into future USGA championships including the U.S. Open.
