Description

The Southeast Asian Amateur (SEA) Team Championship, also known as the South East Asian Amateur Golf Team Championship, is a prestigious annual team golf competition organized by the ASEAN Golf Federation. The 61st edition was held in 2025 at the award-winning Seletar Country Club in Singapore, featuring teams from about 10 countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The championship includes four competing tournaments: the Putra Cup (men's teams), the Santi Cup (women's teams), the Lion City Cup (boys under-16), and the Kartini Cup (girls under-16). The format is stroke play over multiple rounds, with team scores determined by the best individual performances. The event is invitation-only and acts as a key regional competition to develop and showcase Southeast Asia’s emerging golf talent. The ASEAN Golf Federation, led by President Tan Chong Huat, coordinates the championship. The tournament is recognized for its high organizational standards and serves as an important stepping stone for amateurs aspiring to higher competitive levels.
