JT Poston Invitational

The JT Poston Invitational is an NCAA Division I men's golf tournament hosted by Western Carolina University and played at the Waynesville Inn & Golf Club in Waynesville, North Carolina. This three-day event features 54 holes of stroke play, with one 18-hole round played each day from Sunday through Tuesday. The course is a par-70 layout measuring 6,720 yards, known for its traditional mountain setting and challenging conditions including swirling winds and firm greens. The field includes about 15 teams from institutions such as Virginia Tech, Lipscomb, Kennesaw State, James Madison, Southern Mississippi, Drexel, Elon, Abilene Christian, Jacksonville, Morehead State, UT Rio Grande Valley, Francis Marion, Wofford, Xavier, and host Western Carolina. Teams consist of five players, with the best four scores counting toward the team total each round. Qualification is by invitation, primarily based on conference affiliations, team rankings, and previous season performance.
