Description

The Harry Oppenheimer Trophy is a golf tournament organized by GolfRSA, played over 54 holes of stroke play at the Maccauvlei Golf Club. The event typically features up to 120 competitors who qualify by being amateurs with a handicap index of 5.0 or less and are members of golf clubs affiliated with GolfRSA or recognized organizations. After the first 36 holes, there is a cut to the top 60 players and ties. Entries are limited and balloted if the maximum field size is exceeded, with acceptance decisions made by Maccauvlei Golf Club. The tournament is conducted according to the Rules of Golf approved by the R&A and USGA. Ties for first place are decided by sudden death playoffs. The event normally takes place in June, and competitors must submit entry forms before the closing date, with an entry fee that includes playing fees and lunch on the final day.
