Description

The General Hackler Championship, also known as the General James Hackler Championship, is an NCAA Division I men's collegiate golf tournament held annually at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event typically spans three days with 54 holes of stroke play, starting on a Sunday and concluding on a Tuesday. The course is a par-72 layout stretching 7,233 yards, known for its challenging design by Robert Trent Jones Sr. The tournament features a strong field of NCAA Division I teams, with around 15 to 20 teams participating. Each team fields five players per round, with the top four scores counting toward the team total. The General Hackler Championship is named after Major General James F. Hackler Jr., a pioneer of the Grand Strand's golf industry and longtime supporter of Coastal Carolina University, which hosts the tournament.
