Description
The Elon Phoenix Invitational is an NCAA Division I men's golf tournament hosted annually by Elon University at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina. The event takes place over two days in mid-October, using a 54-hole stroke play format (36 holes on the first day with a shotgun start, followed by 18 holes on the second day with tee times). The course is a par-71, measuring 6,871 yards. The field typically includes about 16 teams from a mix of conferences, featuring schools like Elon, UNC Wilmington, Charleston Southern, Old Dominion, Temple, East Carolina, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Lafayette, Long Island, Longwood, Presbyterian, Queens University, Radford, Western Carolina, and select individuals from North Carolina and UNC Greensboro. Elon has been a dominant host recently, winning five out of the last ten tournaments and setting tournament scoring records.
