Port Phillip Open Amateur and Victorian Amateur

The Port Phillip Open Amateur and Victorian Amateur are premier state-level championships managed by Golf Australia and held annually at Kingston Heath Golf Club and other leading Victorian venues. The event begins with 72 holes of stroke play, which also serves as qualifying for the Victorian Amateur, followed by a match play knockout stage for the top 32 men and top 16 women. The full field typically consists of more than 150 men and women combined, primarily low-handicap players selected by handicap and order of entry. The tournaments are open to golfers with a handicap index of 4.0 or better (men) and 8.0 or better (women), and are among Australia’s most historic and competitive state titles.
