Description

The Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship is one of the oldest and most prestigious amateur tournaments in the United States, first played in 1901. The 2025 championship will be contested July 7–11 at The Pfau Course at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. This event features a 144-player field, open to male amateurs with a USGA handicap index of 2.0 or less. Format includes 72 holes of stroke play, with a cut to the low 54 and ties after 36 holes. Entry is open sign-up, with most spots filled by merit—players must meet established handicap requirements, and many are top-ranked college, international, and mid-amateur golfers. The tournament is part of the Elite Amateur Golf Series and awards significant ranking points.
