Description

The Women’s Amateur Championship is organized by The R&A and held annually at top courses in Great Britain and Ireland. The format begins with a two-day, 36-hole stroke play qualifier; the best 64 players advance to the match play knockout phase, culminating in a 36-hole championship final. Entry is open to female amateur golfers from around the world who hold a valid federation handicap (typically ≤2.0) and complete registration before the published deadline. Qualifying is determined by cumulative stroke play scores; ties for match play spots are broken by countback. The event is internationally recognized as one of the premier women’s amateur championships, awarding Order of Merit and global amateur ranking points.
