Description

The Senior Division National Championship, officially known as the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship, is a national tournament for amateur golfers aged 55 and older, operated by the United States Golf Association (USGA). The event begins with 36 holes of stroke play, after which the top 64 players advance to the match play portion of the tournament. Competitors must have a USGA handicap index of 7.4 or lower to enter. The championship is known for its challenging format combining stroke play and match play, typically played over six days. Winners of the U.S. Senior Amateur receive exemptions into several major amateur and senior events, including the following year's U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Amateur, and U.S. Mid-Amateur. The 2025 championship is scheduled to be held at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
