Description

The Dogwood Invitational is a prestigious annual amateur golf championship held at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1941, the tournament is built on a rich tradition of competition and supporting junior golf, with proceeds benefiting the Georgia Junior Golf Association and the Druid Hills Golf Club Foundation, which funds scholarships and junior golf programs. The event is contested on the historic Druid Hills course, designed by H.H. Barker in 1912 and extensively renovated in 2003 by renowned architect Bob Cupp to restore its Golden Era character with narrow fairways and few artificial hazards. The par-72, 6,860-yard course has a slope of 139 and a rating of 73.5, providing a challenging competition setting. The Dogwood Invitational is an invitation-only tournament supplemented by a qualifier, drawing approximately 90 elite amateur players annually. Players must have a USGA handicap index of 7.0 or lower to enter the qualifier. The tournament is recognized as a "Category B" event in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, signifying its status among the top 150 amateurs tournaments worldwide
