Description
The NSW Amateur is the state championship of New South Wales, Australia, and is organized by Golf NSW. The tournament features a two-stage format: a 36-hole stroke play qualifier followed by a match play championship for the top 32 men and 16 women. It generally welcomes a field of up to 150 men and 70 women, with eligibility limited to players with a Golf Australia handicap of 2.0 or better. Entry is open to leading amateurs from Australia, often joined by international competitors. The event is renowned for its strong fields and rich history, dating back to 1898.
