Description

The Mountain West Championship is an annual NCAA Division I collegiate golf tournament organized by the Mountain West Conference. The format is stroke play, consisting of three rounds (54 holes) played over three days, typically with five golfers competing per team each day and the best four scores counting toward the team total. The championship usually includes all the men's golf teams from the Mountain West Conference, which comprises around 10 teams including San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico, Air Force, Fresno State, Boise State, Wyoming, Colorado State, Nevada, and San Jose State. The tournament venue rotates among challenging courses, most recently held at Crescent Dunes Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona. Qualification is through membership in the Mountain West Conference, with each team being selected by their respective institution according to team and individual season performance. The schedule allows teams to compete for the conference title, and the individual champion is also recognized.
