Description

The Hungarian Amateur Open Championship is organized by the Hungarian Golf Federation and held annually at the Zala Springs Golf Resort in Zalacsány, Hungary. The 2025 event is scheduled for July 20-22 and consists of 54 holes of individual stroke play over three rounds, with a cut after 36 holes limiting the field to 72 players, maintaining the initial gender ratio. The tournament is open to Hungarian amateur golfers as well as amateurs registered abroad who meet the handicap requirements: a maximum handicap index of 12.0 for Hungarian male players and 18.0 for Hungarian female players, and a maximum of 6.0 for foreign male players and 12.0 for foreign female players. The event is a recognized World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event.
