Description
The Cavalier Regional Preview is an NCAA Division I women's collegiate golf tournament hosted by the University of Virginia at the Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Virginia. The event is played over three rounds (54 holes) in a stroke play format, typically spanning two days with 36 holes on the first day and 18 holes on the second. Around 12 to 15 teams usually compete, each fielding five players and counting the four lowest scores per round toward the team total. Invitations are extended mainly to Atlantic Coast Conference teams and other regional strong programs. The tournament serves as an early-season test and preparation for regional NCAA championships
