The Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational is a prestigious 54-hole team and individual stroke play event hosted annually at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia, as part of the Bridgestone Collegiate Development Program under the PGA TOUR's Pathway to Progression. The tournament aims to promote diversity in golf by providing elite-level competition for athletes from historically underrepresented backgrounds, particularly focusing on HBCU programs. It features about 10 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams, including schools such as Howard, Florida A&M, Jackson State, Johnson C. Smith, Miles College, Morehouse, Southern, Tennessee State, Winston-Salem State, Alabama State, Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina A&T, and Texas Southern. The course is a championship par-72 measuring 7,259 yards, designed by Greg Norman, with tree-lined Bermuda fairways, water hazards, and rolling terrain. The tournament concludes with team champions earning a berth to the HBCU Performance Experience at TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, making it a significant event for HBCU golf programs to gain exposure and experience at a high level.
