The Africa Amateur Championship is an annual premier amateur golf tournament established by The R&A and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews to showcase Africa’s best emerging male and female amateur golfers. The 2025 edition is slated for February 5-8 at Leopard Creek Country Club in South Africa, a highly acclaimed course near Kruger National Park known for its championship pedigree and scenic wildlife surroundings. The tournament features 72 holes of stroke play over four days. The field comprises top amateur players from African nations selected through their national golf associations and rankings. Winners earn exemptions into The Open Championship, The Amateur Championship, and several other prestigious professional and amateur events, providing crucial exposure and development pathways for African talent.
