South Dakota Junior Championship

The South Dakota Golf Association (SDGA) Junior Championship is a well-established tournament designed for junior golfers aged 18 and under, held annually to showcase the state’s top young talent. The 2025 championship is scheduled for July 21-23 at Lakeview Municipal Golf Club in Mitchell, South Dakota. The tournament features multiple age divisions to ensure competitive balance: The Overall Championship division for boys and girls aged 16-18 will play 54 holes over three days, and participants must compete in this division to contend for the official SDGA Junior Championship title. The 14-15 and 12-13 age groups will each play 36 holes spread over two days. The youngest divisions, 10-11 and 9 & under, will play 9 holes, with the option for caddies. Importantly, juniors have the option to “play up” into older divisions if they wish. Entry fees for the 2025 Championship vary by division, with early registration offering a discount: $65 for the 16-18 division (54 holes), $75 after June 18 $45 for the 14-15 and 12-13 divisions (36 holes), $55 after June 18 $20 for the 10-11 and 9 & under divisions (9 holes), $30 after June 18 The final deadline to enter is July 9 at 11:59 pm CST. This event is part of a broader SDGA Junior Tour, which supports junior golf development in South Dakota through multiple events and divisions, aiming to provide quality and affordable competitive opportunities on courses suited to each age group.
