Description

The Moon Golf Junior Championship presented by Auburn-Opelika Tourism is organized by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). The event takes place at the RTJ Golf Trail at Grand National - Lakes Course in Opelika, Alabama, typically spanning four rounds. The format is stroke play. The tournament field for boys initially requires a status of 17 Performance Stars or more to gain entry, while the girls' initial field requires 12 or more Performance Stars; some players with fewer stars gain entry through a tiebreaker. Usually, the field size includes around 70 or more competitors. Qualification is primarily based on AJGA Performance Stars status. Player registration occurs shortly before the event, and players are encouraged to stay at the AJGA host hotel, the Auburn Marriott Opelika Resort & Spa at Grand National, which supports the tournament's success.
