Description

The Danish National Stroke Play Championship (DM slagspil) is organized by the Danish Golf Union (Dansk Golf Union). The championship is played in stroke play format over 72 holes, typically distributed as 18 holes per day across four days (Tuesday to Friday). The starting field usually consists of around 102 participants. After 36 holes, there is a cut down to the top 93 players and ties; after 54 holes, a further cut to top 51 players and ties occurs, and then after 54 holes (perhaps the final round), the field is further reduced to the top 15 players and ties. In case of a tie after the final round, the winner is decided by a sudden death playoff at hole 18 until a winner emerges. The tournament follows strict pace of play rules with penalties for slow play ranging from warnings to disqualification. Qualification for the event generally involves meeting criteria set by the Danish Golf Union, including performance in preceding tournaments and rankings. The format is purely stroke play, and players compete individually.
