AIG Women's Open

The AIG Women's Open, formerly known as the Women's British Open, is one of the five major championships in women's professional golf. It was first held in 1976 and became an official LPGA major in 2001. The tournament is organized by The R&A and features a 72-hole stroke play format played over four days, typically with a field of 144 players. After the first 36 holes, a cut is made to the top 65 players and ties. The event is held at rotating prestigious golf courses in the United Kingdom and features a highly competitive international field qualifying through multiple exemption categories, including past champions, top rankings from the LPGA and LET tours, and various qualifying events.
