Description

The NCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championship is an annual tournament organized by the NCAA to determine the top women's collegiate golf team and individual golfer in Division I. The tournament format includes four rounds of stroke play over four days, with the first 54 holes played from Friday to Sunday. After 54 holes, the top 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on advancing teams compete in an additional 18-hole stroke play round on Monday to identify the top eight teams moving on to match play. The team national champion is then decided through a match-play format held Tuesday and Wednesday, featuring quarterfinals, semifinals, and final matches. Each team fields five players, and the best four scores count toward the team's daily total. The event typically features 30 teams and six individual qualifiers representing top NCAA Division I programs nationwide. The championship is held on challenging courses such as the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, a par-72 course around 6,300 yards.
