World University Golf Championships

The World University Golf Championships is part of the FISU World University Championships series organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The championship is held biennially and features top university-level golfers from around the world competing in a stroke play format. The event typically consists of 72 holes over four rounds, with both individual and team competitions. Qualification is through national university sports federations, with athletes required to be enrolled in a university or have recently graduated. The World University Golf Championships promote international sporting exchange among student-athletes at elite amateur level. The 2025 edition took place as part of the larger FISU World University Games held from July 16 to 27 across multiple cities in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, including Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, and others. Golf competitions were hosted at venues like Lohrheidestadion in Bochum.
