Description

The Wisconsin State Amateur Championship is organized by the Wisconsin State Golf Association and is the oldest and most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the state, first held in 1901. The championship consists of 72 holes (four rounds) of stroke play over four consecutive days, featuring the top 156 amateur golfers from Wisconsin. Eligibility requires a WSGA Handicap Index of 9.4 or less and membership in a WSGA-affiliated club. Players enter by direct registration, with some gaining priority based on past performance, POY rankings, or through a sectional qualifying round if entries exceed capacity. The event is played on Wisconsin’s finest courses and includes an added three-person Yule Cup team competition.
