Description

The Washington State Junior Amateur is organized by the Washington Junior Golf Association (WJGA), offering one of the largest and most respected junior competitions in the Pacific Northwest. The tournament is played over three rounds (54 holes) of stroke play, with divisions for boys and girls ages 8–18. Fields usually consist of approximately 156 competitors, with age groups and sectional qualifiers leading to the championship. Qualification is secured by performance in WJGA district events, with top finishers earning spots in the State Junior Amateur. Exemptions can be earned through high finishes in prior years, POY rankings, scoring average standards, and by submitting a resume of tournament scores if no existing record is available. All participants must be Washington residents.
