Description

The Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship is one of the premier state-level events conducted by Washington Golf, the governing body formerly known as the Washington State Golf Association. Open to amateur male golfers aged 25 and older with a USGA Handicap Index of 9.9 or lower through a Washington Golf member club, the championship features a 54-hole gross stroke-play format contested over three rounds. The field typically includes around 120 of the region’s top mid-amateurs, with a cut made after 36 holes to the low 60 and ties. The event rotates among top venues across Washington, and in 2025 it was hosted at Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club in Blaine. That year, Jonny Larson of Bellingham captured the title with rounds of 66-71-71 to win the 16th edition of the championship. The Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur holds a prominent place in the state’s amateur golf calendar, offering experienced players the chance to compete for statewide honors and earn performance points toward Washington Golf’s annual awards. Washington Golf is headquartered at 3401 South 19th Street, Suite #200, Tacoma, WA 98405. The association can be reached by phone at (206) 526-8605 or toll-free at (800) 643-6410, and general inquiries can be directed to membership@wagolf.org.
