Description
The Valero Texas Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, held annually at the TPC San Antonio golf course near San Antonio, Texas. It is the third-oldest PGA Tour event, first played in 1922, and has been played consistently in San Antonio throughout its history. The tournament is played over four days comprising 72 holes of stroke play. The field typically includes 144 players, with a cut made after 36 holes reducing the field to the top 65 players and ties for the final two rounds. Players qualify based on PGA Tour status, past champions exemption, sponsor exemptions, and a Monday qualifying round before the event.
