Description

The U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship is organized by the United States Golf Association (USGA). The event features 36 holes of stroke play qualifying to determine the top 64 players who advance to match play. The match play rounds are 18 holes each, concluding with an 18-hole final match. The championship is open to female amateur golfers aged 25 and older with a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding a set limit (usually around 9.4). The field size is typically around 132 entrants, including exempt players, with ties for match play qualification decided by playoffs. The champion earns a gold medal, custody of the Mildred Gardinor Prunaret Trophy for one year, and an exemption to future USGA championships.
