Uruguayan National Match Play

The Uruguayan National Match Play is the premier amateur match play championship in Uruguay, organized annually by the Uruguay Golf Association (Asociación Uruguaya de Golf). Open to men’s and women’s divisions, the event features an initial qualifying stage of 36 holes of stroke play to determine the seeding, followed by head-to-head match play elimination rounds. Typically, the championship draws 32–64 top-ranked Uruguayan amateurs selected via national rankings, club nominations, and previous performances. The tournament is recognized for producing Uruguay’s best amateur golfers, providing winners with titles and entry into regional international competitions.
