The Writz at Mile High

The Writz at Mile High is a collegiate men’s golf tournament organized by Colorado Christian University and held at Bear Creek Golf Club in Lakewood, Colorado. The event pays tribute to longtime Colorado School of Mines golf coach Bob Writz. The format features three rounds (54 holes) of stroke play, with 36 holes played the first day and 18 holes the second. Tournament play differs from many collegiate events as teams field six golfers and count the five lowest scores towards the team total for each round. The field typically consists of 18 NCAA Division II programs, with qualification by direct invitation to regionally and nationally competitive teams. The Writz at Mile High serves as an important fall-season tournament for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and wider Division II golf.
