Description

The Ohio Open is organized by the Northern Ohio PGA Section and is one of the state’s most prestigious golf events. The 2025 Ohio Open was held June 30 to July 2 at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, featuring a field of 288 professionals and amateurs. The tournament format is 54 holes of stroke play played over three days across three different courses: Fazio, North, and the famed South Course for the final round. A cut is made after 36 holes, allowing the low 60 scores plus ties to advance to the final round on the South Course. The event attracts top golfers from throughout Ohio, including many former champions. The 2025 champion was Cincinnati teaching professional Will Grimmer, who won by two shots and earned a $10,000 prize.
