Description

The Dropping Junior Championship, also known as the John Dropping Invitational, is a long-standing and prestigious junior golf tournament held at RedHawk Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho. The event dates for 2025 are June 9-11, and it is open to boys and girls ages 14-18, with eligibility requirements including a USGA handicap index of 5.0 or less for boys and 10.0 or less for girls. The tournament typically fields up to 96 players and has a rich history dating back over 57 years, honoring the memory and legacy of John Dropping, a remarkable junior golfer from Idaho. The tournament is highly regarded for showcasing top junior golf talent and awarding American Junior Golf Association Performance-Based Entry (AJGA PBE) stars to the top 10% of the field. Registration opens March 1, 2025, and the event features a challenging championship course designed by Gene Bates.
