Description

The Southern Cape Open Championship is a prestigious 54-hole stroke play amateur golf tournament organized by the Southern Cape Golf Union. It is held annually at the Knysna Golf Club in Knysna, South Africa, typically taking place over three days. The competition features a field limited to 120 amateur golfers with a handicap index of 6.5 or less, including reserved spots for ladies and development players. After two rounds, the field is cut to the leading 60 men and 20 women, who then compete in the final round. Players qualify mostly based on GolfRSA Men’s and Women’s Open Player Rankings or as determined by the Tournament Organizing Committee. The event follows R&A Rules of Golf and Southern Cape local rules.
