Description

The Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Established in 1996, it originally consisted of five Oklahoma-based schools but has since expanded to include 13 member institutions spanning five states: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The conference sponsors 18 intercollegiate sports, including men's and women's basketball, golf, tennis, cross country, soccer, volleyball, track and field, wrestling, football, baseball, and softball. The SAC is known for its rich basketball tradition but also competes at a high level in other sports. Membership includes full and associate members, with some schools participating in specific sports only, such as football or wrestling.
