PNG Open
About
The PNG Open is a professional golf tournament held at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club in Papua New Guinea. As part of the PGA Tour of Australasia Challenger Series, the event is played over four rounds of stroke play, with 18 holes played each day across four days. The field typically consists of 120 players, which includes about 76 professionals ranked according to the PGA Tour of Australasia exemption categories, up to 10 tournament invites, around 20 male amateurs selected by the PNG Golf Association, and up to 14 international tour professionals via PGA of Australia invitations. Players qualify based on rankings, exemptions, invitations, and regional amateur selections. After the first two rounds, the top 50 professionals and ties, plus any amateurs who meet the cut, advance to the final two rounds.
