Description
The Ohio Amateur Championship is an annual premier golf tournament organized by the Ohio Golf Association (OGA). It typically features four rounds of stroke play held over four days, rotating among top courses in Ohio, such as the 2025 event at Zanesville Country Club. The field size generally ranges around 150 to 160 competitors consisting of the best amateur golfers who reside in Ohio or attend Ohio colleges, with qualification involving either a handicap requirement or qualifying events held at multiple locations across the state. The format is purely stroke play, with a cut after 36 holes to advance the leading players to the final two rounds. The championship is highly prestigious within Ohio amateur golf and offers exemptions to certain national amateur championships for top finishers.
