Description

The North Carolina Women's Amateur Championship is an annual event conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association, with the tournament tracing its origins back to 1922. The championship is played over 54 holes of stroke play and features both a Championship division and a Carolinas division, with the latter playing a shorter course. Most years, the field includes top amateur women golfers from across North Carolina who are legal residents of the state, with eligibility requiring that competitors be members in good standing of a Carolinas Golf Association member club and have an active GHIN USGA Handicap Index. There is no cut, and players in the Championship division are flighted using their 36-hole scores. Qualification is open to female amateurs who have reached a specified minimum age by the start date, and registration is conducted online, with deadline dates published annually
