Description

The 2025 New Zealand Amateur Championship was held from October 29 to November 2 at Invercargill Golf Club, New Zealand. Organized by Golf New Zealand, it is the nation's premier amateur golf event and one of the oldest continuously contested national amateur titles in the world since 1893. The championship features 36 holes of stroke play over the first two days to qualify the top players, followed by three days of match play elimination rounds. The men's match play involves the top 32 players advancing to knockout rounds, culminating in a 36-hole final on November 2. The women's competition features qualifying stroke play with the top 16 advancing to match play and also finishing with a 36-hole final. This championship attracts the best amateur golfers from across New Zealand and occasionally international competitors.
