Description
The New Mexico-West Texas Amateur is organized by the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association (SCAGA) and is considered one of the most prestigious amateur championships in the region. The event is played over three rounds (54 holes) of stroke play and generally draws a field of 100 to 144 top male amateur golfers from New Mexico and West Texas. Players must be SCAGA members and have established a qualifying handicap index. Entry is primarily via direct online registration, though past champions and recent high finishers may receive exemptions. The championship does not require pre-qualifying rounds but selects participants based on membership and handicap criteria
