Description

The NCGA Amateur Stroke Play Championship is organized by the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) and is one of the region’s most prestigious amateur events. The championship is played over three rounds (54 holes) of stroke play. To gain entry, golfers must have an NCGA membership and meet handicap requirements (generally 5.4 index or lower). There is an 18-hole qualifier for non-exempt players to reach the championship field. The field, usually set at approximately 84–120 competitors, is cut after 36 holes to the low 42 and ties for the final round. Past winners include players who have gone on to successful college and professional careers.
