The Matthew NeSmith Junior Championship is a 54-hole stroke play AJGA tournament held at The WildeWood Club in Columbia, South Carolina. The 2025 event is scheduled for June 2 to 5 and features a field of 78 boys and girls ages 12 to 19. The course plays to a par 72 with yardages of approximately 6,659 yards for boys and 5,765 yards for girls. Entry into the tournament follows AJGA Performance Star exemptions: boys fully exempt include the top 3, top 10 require 12 stars, top 15 require 8 stars, top 25 require 4 stars, and 2 stars are needed to make the cut. Girls have similar exemption tiers, with the top 3 fully exempt, and the top 5 requiring 12 stars. The tournament attracts many top junior golfers, including past AJGA champions and college commitments. Coaches from universities such as Clemson, Oklahoma, and Texas Christian have attended.
