Description

The Maryland Mid-Amateur Championship is a competitive stroke play tournament conducted over three rounds, typically two days, with a cut after the first round to the low 30 players plus ties advancing to the final rounds. The event is open to male amateur golfers aged 25 and older, with a Handicap Index requirement generally capped at 7.0 or better. The championship is played from the WHITE MSGA tee markers and includes both a Championship Division and a Net Division. In the event of ties in the Championship Division, a hole-by-hole playoff determines the winner. The tournament emphasizes pace of play with established guidelines and timing policies to ensure smooth competition. The Maryland Mid-Amateur is one of the Maryland State Golf Association's key men's events, offering competitive mid-amateurs a high-level tournament experience with well-defined qualification and competition rules
