Maekyung Amateur Championship

The Maekyung Amateur Championship is one of South Korea’s most prestigious amateur golf events, organized by the Korea Golf Association and typically played at Nam Seoul Country Club. Held annually in late August, the tournament is recognized as one of Korea’s “Amateur Major” championships. It consists of 72 holes of stroke play over four days and regularly draws a highly competitive field of more than 100 top Korean amateurs, as well as select international invitees. Eligibility is determined by player ranking, qualifying performances, and invitations extended by the association. The event serves as a pivotal step in the development of elite amateur talent in Korea.
