Jay Don Blake Jr. is an American professional golfer born on October 28, 1958, in St. George, Utah. He attended Utah State University, where he had a standout collegiate career, winning the 1980 NCAA Championship and being named the NCAA Player of the Year in 1981. Turning professional in 1981, Blake played primarily on the PGA Tour starting in 1987, achieving one PGA Tour victory at the 1991 Shearson Lehman Brothers Open. He consistently finished in the top 125 on the money list for 15 consecutive years and earned more than three dozen top-10 finishes during his PGA Tour career. Notably, his best major performance was tied for sixth at the 1992 U.S. Open. After his PGA Tour career, Blake played on the Nationwide Tour and then the PGA Tour Champions, where he found success with three wins including the 2011 Songdo IBD Championship and the 2011 Charles Schwab Cup Championship. He made his 500th PGA Tour start in 2024 at age 65. Blake is also known for his passion for drag racing and has been deeply connected to his hometown throughout his career.
