The Japan Open Golf Championship is a prestigious national championship event held annually as part of the Japan Golf Tour. The 90th edition of the tournament is scheduled from October 16 to October 19, 2025, at Nikko Country Club in Tochigi, Japan. The format is 72 holes of stroke play over four days, with a field of 120 professional players competing. The total prize fund for 2025 is ¥210,000,000, with the winner receiving ¥42,000,000. This event is jointly sponsored by the Japan Golf Association and NHK, and the winner receives prestigious trophies including the Prime Minister's Cup. Starting in 2025, the winner of the Japan Open also earns an entry into the Masters Tournament. The tournament is part of The Open Qualifying Series, offering qualification to The Open Championship.
