Description

The Japan Junior Championship (Age 15-17 Division) is organized by the Japan Golf Association, held annually at renowned courses such as Kasumigaseki Country Club. The event spans 54 holes of stroke play over three days, with a second cut after 36 holes. The starting field capacity typically exceeds 100 players (split between boys’ and girls’ divisions). Qualifying for the finals is based on performance in a qualifying round: boys must be able to score 94 or less for 18 holes, and girls 110 or less; finalists are selected by score and tie-breakers if needed. Entry is open to junior golfers ages 15-17 who meet these skill requirements, and seeded players, top-ranked or specially recommended competitors, may directly enter finals. The event serves as Japan’s highest-profile junior championship, helping to identify national team prospects and future stars.
