Description

The Illinois State Junior Amateur Championship is organized by the Illinois Junior Golf Association (IJGA) and is one of the premier junior events in the state. The championship is played over three rounds (54 holes) of stroke play, typically drawing a field of 120 to 156 of Illinois' best junior golfers. Participants must qualify for the event through sectional qualifying tournaments, which are held throughout the state in the months leading up to the championship. The event is strictly for amateur golfers who are residents of Illinois and meet the IJGA’s age eligibility requirements (usually ages 14–18). After two rounds, the field is cut to the top scores for the final round.
