Illinois State Amateur Championship

The Illinois State Amateur Championship is conducted annually by the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) and is recognized as the premier amateur golf event in Illinois. The current format is a 72-hole stroke play competition held over three days. The tournament begins with 36 holes over the first two days, after which the field is cut to the low 35 players and ties. The final day consists of 36 holes of stroke play to determine the champion. The event typically attracts more than 100 top amateur golfers from around the state and beyond. The champion secures an automatic exemption into the U.S. Amateur Championship.
