Maricopa, AZ LocationThe Golfweek National Golf Invitational is a prestigious postseason collegiate golf tournament held annually at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona. The event features 10 men's and 10 women's NCAA college golf teams competing over 54 holes of stroke play, with one round played each day over three days. The course is a par 72, approximately 7,323 yards in length. Invitations are extended based on a combination of Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat rankings, as well as regular-season performance, focusing on mid-major programs that may not qualify for the NCAA Championship. The tournament aims to provide quality postseason competition to teams with strong seasons that don't make the NCAA field, similar to the NIT in college basketball. It is hosted in partnership with Golfweek and has a high profile with live scoring on GolfStat and media coverage.
